Phillipa Lepley bride Diane wore a high-neck, bespoke gown defined by a basque-waist corseted bodice, hand-embroidered with pearls over florals of fuchsia, iris, and peony roses in satin chiffon appliqué, cording, and threadwork.

Each motif was individually placed to flatter the body, with florals blooming delicately across the hands at the end of the sleeves. The pearl embellishment created a soft, luminous effect that contrasted beautifully with the clean, sculpted basque waist and structured silk zibeline skirt. Hand-sewn buttons and loops traced the centre back and sleeves, while internal structure, stiffeners, and petticoats ensured the silhouette maintained its elegance throughout the day. A matching hand-embroidered silk tulle veil extended the floral motifs into a delicate, ethereal layer, framing the bridal look.

Diane’s bespoke journey included meticulous fittings, beginning with a calico toile and progressing to silk, tailored precisely to her form. As part of the process, she was presented with a miniature paper doll of her gown — a scaled-down interpretation of the embroidery layout — allowing her to approve the placement and balance of every motif, while also serving as a cherished keepsake.

Traveling internationally for her fittings, Diane experienced a personalised couture process designed to minimise travel while preserving the integrity of the Phillipa Lepley experience. The atelier documented the creation of her gown and veil, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse of the meticulous craft and artistry of her bespoke dress.
