Awakening is inspired by the intricate and delightful details found in the natural world; exquisite fabrics, ornate embellishment, flowing silhouettes and hand-worked floral stitching embody the story of the season.
THE INSPIRATION
Stand-out shapes centre around oversized bows, architectural collars and exaggerated over-skirts with jackets, sleeves and overlays adding a modern touch. Highlights include embroidered gold stargazer lilies that pop against a sugar pink canvas, and gold, pale pink and ivory hummingbirds that appear to dance across silk organza. Masterful thread-work is seen in life-like 3D petals and tulle is embroidered so delicately it gives the appearance of lace, with each motif uniquely placed.

Subtle, defining corsetry is an art form and has become one of the brand’s most desirable and recognisable features; Phillipa and her team work obsessively to achieve an elegant, figure-enhancing silhouette for every client with a keen emphasis on balance and proportion.
A custom-made corset is the foundation for every dress, tailored precisely to each person’s shape over several fittings for effect and comfort in equal measure. These specially designed corsets, created by the Atelier’s highly skilled seamstresses, enhance the waist and define the body, ensuring the most beautiful silhouette and a dress that fits like a second skin.

A PHILLIPA LEPLEY WEDDING DRESS
Each bespoke wedding dress is designed and hand-crafted in London, for brides from the UK, Europe and from as far afield as the US, Asia and Australia.
Phillipa and her team, famed for crafting corsetry that sculpts the silhouette to enhance a client’s natural definition, always start with the female form, defined beautifully by a signature inner corset from which the rest of a design takes shape. The creation of a Phillipa Lepley gown is an art form that has been refined and perfected over more than four decades.
