Designing Your Bespoke Veil
Phillipa Lepley veils are as exquisite as the dresses themselves, balancing and enhancing to beautiful effect. Some brides decide upon a veil at the same time as their dress; others desire a separate veil appointment.
FRAMING THE DRESS
Our veils are crafted using traditional couture techniques and the finest luxury French silk tulle and lace, woven on 200-year-old looms in France. Any veil embroidery is designed by the in-house Atelier team and custom-made by hand, with each bead, crystal or bespoke detail – for example, a bride’s favourite flowers or a personalised monogram – precisely placed. Phillipa’s collection of couture veils includes a variety of styles, including lace-edged, embroidered, beaded and satin-bound or brides can opt for a bespoke design.

A Phillipa Lepley couture bridal veil can be paired with a number of designs, whether a wedding dress of the same fabric, a clean and modern gown or an all-over embroidered dress. A hand-crafted veil not only completes a bride’s look; it is also treasured as a family heirloom, handed down through generations.
Each veil is crafted by hand in the Phillipa Lepley Atelier in Chelsea by an exceptional team of artisans. Individual pieces of the finest lace are meticulously cut out and carefully positioned on plain silk tulle. The pieces are then seamlessly hand-appliquéd using traditional couture techniques.

THE PERSONAL TOUCH
An embroidered or embellished veil showcases artisanal luxury, exquisite craftsmanship and impeccable detail. Bespoke embroidery and embellishments have become a signature element of Phillipa Lepley’s couture wedding dresses and this extends to her exceptional veils. Featuring details such as monogrammed initials, dates, favourite flowers and sentimental symbols, the Atelier team works with each bride to recreate these using embroidery or embellishment.
Each bride’s unique veil is designed by the in-house team and then created by hand, brought to life through intricate hand-stitched touches. The veils become true works of art when brides add their own personal touch. Often completed in a delicate, elegant script, monogramming requires great skill to complete; every stitch must be perfectly placed.
