COUTURE FROM FIT TO FINISH

Our Couture service is an intimate, deeply personal journey in which a Phillipa Lepley wedding dress is created exclusively for you. Whether refining a sleeve, selecting a new fabric, or evolving an existing silhouette into something entirely your own, each Phillipa Lepley gown is meticulously crafted to your exact proportions, a true made-to-measure service.

THE DIFFERENCE AND THE DETAIL

The luxury couture process typically requires around 12 months over several fittings, ensuring an unparalleled standard of fit, craftsmanship and artistry. However, should you require a shorter lead time, we will endeavour to accommodate your wedding date wherever possible. For international clients, we offer a personalised fitting journey designed to minimise travel while maintaining the integrity of the couture experience.

THE COUTURE PROCESS

01	The Design Your journey begins with a private consultation with our Couture Consultants at our Chelsea Shop. During your appointment, you will try on selected pieces and work closely with your consultant to create a design that is unique to you, refining silhouettes, sleeves, necklines, and luxury fabrics to achieve the perfect expression of your vision. We collaborate with you at every stage, ensuring each detail is considered and beautifully executed. Once your design is confirmed, you will receive a hand-illustrated sketch of your wedding dress, fabric swatches and a detailed overview of your bespoke couture fittings journey.
02	The Measure At your measure fitting, we will capture more than 30 precise measurements, to ensure an exceptional fit. Your bespoke corset is then expertly crafted to your form, creating the foundation of your gown.
03	Toile Fittings Your design is first created in your toile fitting(s), a calico mock-up used to perfect line, proportion, and silhouette. These fittings refine the structure and balance of the gown before cutting into your chosen silk, ensuring the most precise and flattering result.
04	Silk Fittings and Atelier Craftsmanship Once the silk is cut, your wedding dress begins to take shape. Through a series of silk fittings, the drape, structure and balance are refined to sculpt flawlessly to your form. Between appointments, your luxury gown is meticulously handcrafted in the Phillipa Lepley Atelier by specialist artisans.
05	Final Fitting & Collection At your final fitting, your completed bespoke gown is carefully reviewed and perfected and then beautifully packed and ready for collection.
