Ursula
Ursula introduces a refined play of colour into the couture collection, pairing ivory with the softest wash of dusky pink. Cut in Phillipa Lepley’s signature heavyweight duchess satin, woven in Lake Como, the gown features a sleek column skirt with a subtle 1950s sensibility and an elegantly straight neckline. A hand-tied pink satin bow sits delicately at the waist, defining the corseted silhouette.
A detachable Watteau train flows from the back neckline, lined in pink satin so that the colour reveals itself unexpectedly from the front while the back remains classically ivory. The effect is exquisite – traditional from one angle, softly modern from another.
For the Chapter Forty campaign shoot, the gown was also styled with the hand-embroidered ‘Lucky in Love’ button-back top: a high-neck, cap-sleeved tulle layer delicately worked with scattered clover motifs. Hidden among them are three four-leaf clovers, quietly placed for good luck.
‘Ursula’ is styled with fine jewellery by David Morris and shoes by Manolo Blahnik.
