Vienna Tulle Cornflower

Ethereal elegance, ‘Vienna Tulle Cornflower’ is a breathtaking vision of colour and lightness. Featuring hand-embroidered cornflowers, meticulously arranged on a layer of diaphanous tulle, the design creates the illusion of florals floating weightlessly in space.

Inspired by Phillipa Lepley’s iconic meadow embroidery, the gown’s hand-embroidered long sleeves pay homage to the natural beauty of real cornflowers. The floral motifs, executed in shades of ivory, green, soft blues, pinks, and purples, are carefully matched to the true hues found in nature.

The embroidery flows across the billowing, softly ‘puffed’ tulle sleeves, where 44 individually hand-stitched flowers appear to hover, their placement expertly considered to maintain an exquisite lightness. Each bloom is crafted with exceptional skill, using refined couture embroidery techniques – satin stitch for the leaves, stem stitch for the stems, and the finest detached chain stitch to create delicately sculpted petals.

‘Vienna Tulle Cornflower’ features a modern square neckline, mirrored at the front and back, finely draped in delicate tulle. Beneath, a specialist lightweight corset provides support while preserving the gown’s ethereal, weightless quality. A slipper satin base dress ensures a flawless foundation, over which two tulle overskirts cascade effortlessly, culminating in a voluminous, circular skirt that moves with a celestial fluidity.

The essence of this design lies in its extraordinary balance of structure and lightness. Meticulously constructed yet seemingly weightless, the corseted bodice sculpts the silhouette, while the sheer layers above create an effortless sense of motion.

For the ‘Grace’ collection campaign, the gown is styled in its purest form, without shoes or jewellery, allowing the intricate craftsmanship and ethereal quality to speak for itself.
